Our Kindy Program

At Ballymore Kindy, we offer a nurturing, play-based program that supports each child’s growth and development. Guided by our service philosophy, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the National Quality Framework and key early childhood theorists, we create meaningful learning experiences that foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Our educators build strong relationships with children and families, encouraging active engagement, creativity, and resilience. We celebrate diversity and aim to empower every child as a capable, confident learner.

Program Overview

At Ballymore Kindy, children aged 3.5 to 5 years enjoy a government-approved kindy program designed to evoke curiosity and build confidence as learners.

We operate as a single unit, with 2 groups of up to 22 children. Each group is supported by a highly qualified and experienced teaching team, including an Early Childhood Teacher and an Educator who work closely together. Children benefit from the continuity of consistent staff and the same group throughout the year, building strong relationships and a genuine sense of belonging within our kindy community.

  • Group 1: Monday & Tuesday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

  • Group 2: Wednesday to Friday, 8:45 am – 2:45 pm

The Kindy operates during school terms and is closed during school holidays and public holidays.

Play

Through play, children explore ideas, build relationships, and develop essential skills in a joyful and meaningful way.

Our program encourages imaginative, social, and active play—supporting each child’s curiosity, confidence, and love of learning in a safe and engaging environment. Play helps children to develop essential social and emotional skills – learning to share, take turns, negotiate and express their feelings. These experiences are fundamental in building resilience, empathy and confidence, while fostering strong connections with others. We create a safe space where children feel supported and inspired to ask questions and discover answers.

Environment

We believe the environment plays a vital role in children's learning and wellbeing. Our thoughtfully designed spaces—both indoors and outdoors—encourage exploration, creativity, and connection with nature. Surrounded by natural elements, children enjoy extended time outdoors, fostering calmness and curiosity.

Offerings of open-ended materials invite playful inquiry, encourage problem solving and imaginative thinking. Children’s voices and their ideas are valued, helping to shape the way we use our spaces, creating opportunities for collaboration, independence and quiet reflection.

Careful thought is given to how can best create a calm, welcoming atmosphere where children feel safe, inspired, and free to express themselves as they grow and learn.

Community

As a community based, not for profit kindergarten, we create a welcoming space where families and educators work together to support every child’s growth.

Our team builds strong, trusting relationships with children and families, encouraging creativity, resilience and active engagement in learning.

We celebrate diversity and value the connections that extend beyond our kindy – linking families, local organisations, and the wider community. These partnerships enrich our program and foster an inclusive environment where we aim to ensure everyone feels respected, supported, and part of a vibrant learning community.

Building our Community Together

Our teaching team works in close partnership, combining expertise and care to create a meaningful learning experience for every child. Collaboration is central to the way we plan together, share ideas and reflect on children’s progress as a team.

Equally important is our Parent Management Committee. As a community, not-for-profit kindergarten, we rely on the active involvement of families to guide and support the service. This partnership strengthens our sense of community and ensures decisions reflect the needs and values of the families within our community.

Supporting all of this is our dedicated Admin and Finance Officer, who plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Kindergarten.

Together we work to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where children thrive.
